[GLLUG] GLUG AD

There's more to Linux than the kernel, but since data is better than anecdote . . .

Linux Weekly News routinely reviews contributions to different kernels. The latest can be found at http://lwn.net/Articles/450891/

By changesets, it has Microsoft in 7th place (5th if you exclude "none" and "unknown") among employers contributing to the 3.0 kernel, with 4.0% of the changesets. If you go by lines changed, Microsoft is 17th with 1.3% of the changed lines.

The article also notes that this is an unusually high rate of contribution for Microsoft.

As to who is flagging the craigslist ads as objectionable, the most logical guess is the people who are making a living removing malware from Windows PCs and fixing other things that don't need fixing on Linux computers.
