[GLLUG] Under Watch: A Day in the New Surveillance Society

I suspect Cyanogenmod 7.1 on the Nexus S would have everything you are
looking for and more. Version 9 pre-releases are already available on
Ice Cream Sandwich AOSP, too. I had actually ordered that phone in
the summer, but just barely canceled it when work provided a
smartphone.

Beware: ICS is using some heavy compile-time optimizations, and Google
is recommending 16GB RAM to get the best compilation speed. Any less
and you'll probably be swapping to disk.

There's an updated board coming out for the OpenMoko Freerunner
shortly, too. My handset is currently collecting dust (Froyo is just
too slow to use seriously), but I'd be willing to sell it cheaply.
The whole point of the Freerunner is that everything except the GPS
has source available (including PCB, case designs, etc). The GPS
issue is a legal thing, as the US still considers it a munition.
