[GLLUG] 775 Motherboard bad?

Hi Richard,

Yeah, I have one of those small ps testers.  I also took it to Vertex and they said they thought it was good as well.

The computer itself would power on, but no disc access, like it would do when it looks for the OS.  No video either, I was using the on board intel graphics.

Phil,

>From my experience, it's fairly likely that your PS went out of spec first.  Have you put that through a tester already?  I won't be at the meeting this week (working), but several of us have pocket testers for ATX supplies.  Just drag the supply and power cable along, and request in advance that someone bring a tester.

Hi, I have been working afternoons, so I haven't been able to attend the meetings.

I have a computer that just up and quit.

I have the motherboard boxed up with the original disc and manual.

Is there anyone on the list who can take a bare 775 motherboard and test it for me?

I dont have the extra parts to test it myself.

It is a Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 which I really like.  For some reason this motherboard is much more expensive now than when I originally bought it.

I don't see any bulged capacitors.

Let me know if you can help.

Thanks,

Phil Smyth
