[GLLUG] Linux Mint 13 Maya: MATE Edition released

If you've been to a GLLUG meeting in the last year or so, you've
almost certainly heard me whine relentlessly about GNOME 2 going away
in all the major Linux distros. Well, the whining is over (or at least
somewhat lessened) since the Linux Mint folks have a MATE edition of
their distro. (MATE is a fork of GNOME 2.) I've had the Linux Mint 13
MATE release candidate on my main workstation for about a week and
have had no problems with it. It works! (Just like Ubuntu used to.) If
you used Ubuntu in the past and just can't get used to Unity, GNOME 3,
KDE, or XFCE, give it a try.
