Well, no, that's not quite right either. MacOS is somewhat based on
Darwin. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_%28operating_system%29 for
more details.
UNIX is a trademark, owned by someone but not Apple. ;-)
Really, MacOS is growing in it's own right. They're all cousins,
{Free,Open,Net,DragonFly}BSD and MacOS, but are branching
out. Hopefully, they will all be (mostly) POSIX compliant.
