When I was in school, my girlfriend lived on the other side of oldtown. 
Any woman walking the streets could safely be assumed to be a working 
professional.  The head shop and the junkyard on the next block don't 
suggest that it's improved as much as you'd like to believe.

Bottom line, we've already had one female member suggest that she's not 
100% comfortable. If one has spoken up, there are certainly other people 
who might have considered attending who won't be because of the location.
