FOS,
I'm looking for volunteers (students, faculty, friends) to help out for an
hour or two with a community outreach event in June. I'll be teaching some
very basic sociolinguistics to children aged 8-12 and their grandparents.
This is a really fun time for everyone. The more helpers in the room, the
better!
The perks:
- Free breakfast, lunch and coffee
- Free British cookies
- Make a bunch of children happy
- Line on your resumé indicating some volunteer work
- Minimum 1.5 hour commitment
I'm running two sessions of *Harry Potter and the Secrets of British
English *for MSU Grandparents University <https://www.grandparents.msu.edu/>
on Wednesday, June 28 (9:00-10:30a, 2:00-3:30p) in B-117 Wells Hall. You
can join me for one or both.
No knowledge of sociolinguistics or Harry Potter required!
Drop me a line if you're interested. And to get the above mentioned free
breakfast/lunch, let me know TODAY if possible.
Suzanne
