FOS and Sociolinguistics Lab,

I'm looking for volunteers to help me with my Grandparents University
<https://alumni.msu.edu/learn/on-campus/grandparents-university/> classes
this summer. The class is called *Harry Potter and the Secrets of British
English. *Participants are 8-12 year olds and their grandparents, and they
learn a bit of sociolinguistics with a Harry Potter theme.

Class details:

*Harry Potter and the Secrets of British English*
*Wednesday, June 27th*
*B-122 Wells Hall*
*MSU Grandparents University
<https://alumni.msu.edu/learn/on-campus/grandparents-university/>*
*Morning class: 9:30a - 11a*
*Afternoon class: 1:30p - 3:00p*
*Contact: Dr. Suzanne Wagner, wagnersu at msu.edu <wagnersu at msu.edu>*

No knowledge of linguistics or Harry Potter required, and no need to come
to both sessions. Faculty, grad students, undergrads and staff are all
welcome to join in.

This is a nice opportunity to get middle schoolers interested in the study
of language and society. It can also be a useful line on your resumé if
you're looking to demonstrate outreach and service to the field or the
university.

Please share this with anyone you think might be interested.

Best,
Suzanne
