Subject: GRAPHSY 2020: Call for Abstracts
Dear all,
The graduate students in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Georgetown University would like to invite graduate students to submit abstracts for the Graduate Portuguese and Hispanic Symposium 2020 (GRAPHSY). The conference will be held on February 21, 2020 at Georgetown University. Paper and poster presentations are welcome on a wide range of topics within the fields of Hispanic linguistics and literatures. This year our goal is to promote a dialogue on the relationship between scholarship within the world of academia and the communities that inspire, affect, and are affected by that research.
This year, the literature side of the conference welcomes Dr. Héctor Hoyos (Stanford University) as our distinguished keynote, while the linguistics side of the conference welcomes a panel comprised of the following distinguished academics:
* Dr. Cecilia Castillo-Ayometzi (WMATA & Georgetown University)
* Dr. Beatriz Lado (CUNY - Lehman College)
* Dr. Esperanza Román-Mendoza (George Mason University)
* Dr. Israel Sanz-Sánchez (West Chester University)
* Dr. Amelia Tseng (American University)
Graduate students at any level in their studies are welcome to participate in GRAPHSY 2020. Undergraduate students will also be considered for poster presentations. Professors who may want to join us are welcome to submit proposals with graduate students as co-presenters. Please find attached the call for papers, which includes more information on the conference. Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words, not including references, and can be submitted here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScoOzzESGDD_otAae42JHMEfLWp4k07YmuOfOZNSd7J4PNmYg/viewform?usp=sf_link__;!ioFpBMP7lJU!meMqBmCIO0knlkP_ekB5Eu5hvYYEOyIN6FtMuXNIYteiKIHAgt2lPrkTYDnWifc$>. The deadline for abstract submission is January 8, 2020.
