Linux newbie having ppp trouble

I've read the documentation.
I've followed the instructions.
I STILL can't connect correctly.
I'm still getting the "Failed to activate interface." error message when
trying to connect with RH's ppp dialer. Here's a snipet from the log file of
my "debug" session.
Anyone got any more idea's?
