	Under JetAdmin 3.x you must go to the 'Device'
	menu and select 'New...'  That's the only way
	to get control of an unconfigured device.

	If it's a used printer or JetDirect, then it 
	may be that its existing network configuration
	is preventing it from communicating properly.
	They're tempermental as all hell, and a bad
	gateway or subnet mask will prevent them from
	communicating with anything even if it's in
	the same broadcast domain.  If you can perform
	a factory reset on the JetDirect, do so, and
	start from scratch with JetAdmin.  If you're
	having trouble, post the model number and I'll
	dig through my manuals - I have most of them
	from the past decade. :-\
