mac services on linux

Theres an rpm for it too. Make sure you get the one with the ASUN patch
which allows for tcp/ip connections from anywhere. Appletalk via tcp/ip is
a lot faster than just using the appletalk protocal (and about 2x faster
than using fetch for ftp) Netatalk I don't think supports the automated
switching from appletalk to tcp/ip connections transfers like the macos
does (system 8.1+). But if you connect via tcp/ip than you will see the
speed increases.

I personally had problems with the papd (printer daemon) It kept crashing.
I switched to LPRng and Macos 9 and went to straight tcp/ip printing. (you
need at _least_ the printer services stuff from OS 9 to get it to work, I
use the system 9 printing extensions and it works perfect on system 8.6)

If you need more help just ask. File services are pretty easy. the
printing services are a bit harder. And none of it is extremely well
documented.
