I got tired of emacs taking a while to start up, so I modified it so that it only loads what's necessary to edit a simple file, and autoloads everything else that was previously in .emacs as necessary. Now it starts up a lot faster. This has got to be some sort of indicator of geekitude: your .emacs is divided into numerous files that autoload themselves... -- Still on the jet lag, so ignore me if I don't make sense.
