to do servlets you need the j2ee sdk in addition to the standard jdk.
http://www.java.sun.com/j2ee/j2sdkee/ has all the information you need. check
out http://www.servlets.com for more general info and a plug for an oreilly
book...
other packages you may be interested in are:

stuff apache/jserv on *nix and nt (yes, apache/jserv on nt, it works quite
