Hmm, it should be there. As I recall it should be a pulldown box that
has 'linux native', 'linux swap', and several other types. Higher up
there is also a place, the first one IIRC, where you put the mount
point. There is no mount point for swap so that area will be left =
blank.

With 4GB to work with I think I'd make swap 128MB (assuming 64MB or =
less
of physical ram), 2 or 3GB (or anywhere in between) for '/', and the
rest for '/home'. That way if you mess it up while learning you can
reinstall without the loss of anything you have stored in your home
folder. Just don't reformat the /home partition when you next install.

Another note, on RH7.1 you'll be asked for security/firewall settings.
On your first install I think I'd recommend more lax settings so you
don't have to deal with the hassles of getting simple things like =
telnet
and ftp to work (to say nothing of swat or webmin if you want to have
web enabled configuration). Even medium settings prohibit things like
telnet. You can change this later if you want to tighten up security at
some point.
