linux at cse

The system manager(s) seem to be very receptive to suggestions for these
labs.  I e-mailed manager@cse.msu.edu about allowing users read/write on the
cd-roms to play audio discs.  The system manager replied with a nice message
and implemented the change that day.  So from my experience, they seem to be
open to constructive suggestions.

They don't have pine on the workstations, but they do have mutt, elm, mail,
and netscape.  <asbestos>Variety is nice, but how many mail readers do you
really need? :-)</asbestos>

Also, CSE has a policy for requesting/installing additional software on the

    damn i still got this [D[D nasty keyboard bug from here too haha

    well the machines got zip drives but i cannot access it as
    mount is only root.

    guess its time students bombard the manager with emails
    reqiuesting all kinds
    of neat programs they think are so necessary to survive on a
    linux box haha

    btw i was a afterstep advocate for 3 years now but i have to
    admit 2 months ago
    i switched to enlightenment and i gotta ssy i love it.
    enlightenment is my
    favorite wm now. not that anybody cares......
