Kernel Panic

Hi. This is the first time I've posted here, been just watching for a while, 
anyways. I just installed Mandrake 8.0 with the 2.4.3 kernel on a dual boot 
system. Win98 is running on the primary channel as master and linux is 
running on the secondary channel as master, and using lilo to boot. Well 
when I boot after the Mandrake welcome screen I get a Kernal panic: 
VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 16:02. It doesn't happen every time. I've 
tested both drives and there ok. Any Ideas?
