CSE FTP Mirror

The goal was to compliment what is "local". I'm sorry, but I do not
count marvin.pa.msu.edu as a valid mirror. Every time I've tried
grabbing something from there, I realize I can grab it 10 times faster
from Umich... and that's from the MSU campus. And from looking, marvin
is not complete in the mirrors, or are they listed with the official
sites. Take Kernel.org for example
http://www.kernel.org/mirrors/countries/US.html

I personally wanted to compliment between egr and umich. I also looked
to see if anything we mirrored was anywhere else in Michigan. Nothing
we chose is officially mirrored anywhere in Michigan. Thats why cpan
and kernel were good choices in my mind. And from how long it took to
grab the first rsync, it was also a good choice. It took 2 days to get
all of kernel.org.

And putting everything else aside, my original post was to get ideas of
what "else" to mirror. We have only tapped into 13 gigs of around 85
gigs we have to play with. I am totally open to suggestions. I would
rather this not turn into a flaming contest. We (as a dept) chose the
first 3 because thats what we wanted. There's 70 gigs still.... give
suggestions.

And please get your facts together before trying to slam the CSE dept.
Look at the official mirror lists for the things we chose. So far we
are complimenting what egr and umich have.
