It's only ignorant to somebody who hasn't had to transfer money on a regular
basis between countries for the sake of living. 3 months would be a joke. In
times where your currency can lose value of 50% within a couple hours I want
my transfers to be done within seconds. The system is not capable of delivering
service. Take only MSU. MSU has something like 3000 foreign students out of
43000. Each student pays tuition in cash value due to restrictions put upon them
by
the INS. This money comes in every year into the country. I paid on average 6k
a semester. 10k per year times 3k students times 50 US unis makes about
1 500 000 000
us dollars a year just in tuition flowing from foreign nations into the
usa. How do you think this money gets here? That is why I care so much. This
isn't about 50 dollars for an hd on a one time occasion. This is about an
iimportant monetary infrastructure.
Dear Mr McPherson,
I am unable to pay for my tuition since my bank won';t release my money to me.
Can I take classes anyhow until I get my money?
Thanks,
Marcel
If you like to hear another
styory of how important international money
transfer is. I got a friend here who owns a US issued credcit card. The only
reason she has it is for her and her friends to use when traveling to the usa.
Whenever one of the clan goes to the us they transfer money from oz into the
account and then use the credit card locally in the usa. This is more efficient
than using an oz issued card since every transfer would accrued a huge fee.
Some places don't even take credit cards which have not been issued in the usa.
The finance and banking system needs improvement. I guess I made my point even
if some think its too harsh of a statement.
