[GLLUG] kernel update problem

Hi all,

I just updated this machines kernel from 2.4.10 to 2.4.16. I thought
that I followed all of the direction properly, but I must not have. I
made a copy of vmlinux, and initrd, and then RPM'd the kernel package.
After that, I could made the initial ramdisk by "mk_initrd".  I then
used "LILO", to make the changes to my disk. However, I rebooted the
system, and got a kernel panic message, no ramdisk, cant mount fs. Any
ideas on how to fix this?
