Maybe we can save some money this round.
The following is a quote from John Gilmore, USENIX board member and Electronic Frontier Foundation co-founder, in a letter to Jon 'Maddog' Hall, also a USENIX board member and Executive Director of Linux International, on July 6, 02:
"Verisign, operating as one of the 100 "competitive" retail registrars
for .ORG, charges you $35/year. That's just because you were silly
enough to buy your domains from Verisign. They rely on millions of
people like you, who were too lazy to switch; that's why their price
is so high. I get domains for $8 to $12/year via eNom.com."

The gllug.org domain expires in January. Someone else should pay
for it this time, I did it last time and I'm not even in the
greater Lansing area anymore.
