No difference. Thne problem seems to go away when I reboot, but that =

Try changing it to "linux" or "vt100" and see if the problem goes away =
(`declare -x TERM linux`). If it persists, I'd switch to a different =
X11 terminal program - I use rxvt pretty much exclusively, but it =
doesn't support transparencies or any other cool features. Hope that =

PS - Beware that setting $TERM to vt100, vt220, ansi, etc. can cause =
problems with sftp and scp down the road.

If you run `set | grep -i term` (or `setenv | grep -i term` for =
csh/tcsh) inside a terminal window, what type does it indicate what it's =
set to?

The last couple days I've had some wierdness going on with my =
home system. Among other things (I believe these problems are note =
technically related), sometimes when I type in a terminal, the system =
seems to always be a keystroke behind. That is, when I type a word, the =
last letter doesn't show up until I push space.
Ideas? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. System is RH =
7.2-stock.
