In all fairness, ext2 and ext3 are the same filesystem, ext3 just has
additional code for journaling. To go from 2 to 3, you run a command which
merely creates a journal on the disk, it doesn't have to really "convert"
anything. From what I've read about OS X's journaling, it's pretty much the
same deal.
