One way to do it is to install Apsfilter.  Check out www.apsfilter.org.  

The other way is to just add an entry for the printer in /etc/printcap.  Since you are just printing plain ascii it shouldn't be very hard to set up.

Look for a line that looks like this one, and uncomment it.  Restart lpd and printing should work.
