[GLLUG] dialup isp recommendations

Well, it's about that time again. Seems like whenever I sign on to an ISP, my
first impression of them is "wow, what a great deal I have gotten" etc, and
then I watch as little by little the service starts to slip ever so gradually
until eventually the modem pool is at 100% usage from the hours of 6PM-9PM
daily, tech support never returns your calls and emails, the news server gets
permanently shut down, and there are entire weekends that the server refuses
to authenticate you.

So I'd appreciate some advice on dialup ISPs available in the area. A
locally-owned one would be nice, but I'm not too picky as long as it isn't
that outsourced popsite crud or whatever. All I really need is regular old
reliable 56k dialup, email accounts and web space are not necessary, but a
*NIX shell account and full-access news server are highly desireable.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

P.S. The ISP I hope to leave soon is diamondcs.net, if anybody's interested. I
think I recommended them before to someone on the list, to that person I
apologize. :P
