I agree with Sean. It's important to properly collect and prepare
evidence for a trial, especially a criminal trial. If you are
considering seeking criminal charges, I would recommend contacting the
Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit to seek their guidance. They
can recommend a recovery service and offer advice on how best to
proceed.

For a lawsuit, I would hire a recovery service. Yes they charge a pretty
penny but it is a 3rd party and you will get better documentation for
the
courtroom.
