I work at Lansing Community College and we are proposing a 2 year
degree for the Web, that builds on our current 1 year Certificate.
http://snipurl.com/ifbca04

There are new courses (pending approval) that will be developed include:

-PHP/MySQL
-PERL/CGI
-Apache/IIS Web server Administration
-Web Development Tools (Overview of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.)
-Intro to MySQL
-Intro to Linux Desktop

The degree takes the current Internet for Business Certificate (
http://snipurl.com/ifbca04 ) that we have and beefs it up for a 2 year
degree. The current certificate already includes a series of intro
courses in computers, VB.NET programming, web design, XHTML/CSS and
site management. This degree adds the new courses plus the usual math,
science, etc.

To the employers in the crowd: Is this something you would want? Is
there something missing?

To the potential (and current) students: If you were not currently
attending a school and were looking for a future in web related work,
would you take these courses and pursue a 2 year degree? Why or why
not?

Any thoughts on this, would help greatly.

Thanks

Dennis
