[GLLUG] Meeting Today, August 4

Another weekly GLLUG meeting is scheduled to be held at the Gone Wired 
cybercafe in Lansing at 6:00PM. Gone Wired is at 2021 E Michigan Ave in 
Lansing on the north side of the street between N Clemens and Fairview 
avenues. Here is a map with the (approximate) location:

Agenda: Penguicon Terminal Server setup and FreeNX configuration

A month or two ago, we started setting up a terminal server that will 
eventually be powering the computer lounge at Penguicon 4.0 next April. 
Unfortunately, we ran out of time to finish it, so we'll resume work on 
it tonight. By meeting time we should have a mostly-configured Gentoo 
box to work with.

Since configuration a machine isn't exactly a stellar group project, 
we'll also tinker with FreeNX, the new and exciting bandwidth-efficient 
remote desktop software. Supposedly FreeNX can give a you a speedy 
remote desktop even over a 56k link. If it does that well over low-speed 
connections, it should theoretically be great for terminal server as well.
