I'm going to second that--Kanotix is an excellent way to install Debian 
to a system.  I tell folks, "Don't let Sid scare you, I have had few 
problems."

I must admit, though--I'm looking forward to the Knoppix 4.0.1 DVD via 
BitTorrent (soon): http://torrent.unix-ag.uni-kl.de
