The title isn't quite what it sounds. Specifically, the first book
published using entirely open source software, starting from the editor
used on up, has been published by Clinton Nixon (yes, that's really his
name) of AnvilWerks. You can see the product at
http://www.anvilwerks.com/tsoy/

Even the text of this book is open source, meaning that if you're really
determined you can make your own layout and publish it. The text is
available as HTML format. I know from first hand experience that it
imports nicely into OpenOffice.org.

If you're at all into table top role playing games (i.e. no computer
involved) I strongly encourage you to buy a copy of this book. Clinton
writes very nice games, and he's done a lot to support free and
independent game developers. He's also a huge open source advocate and
has from time to time used my software.
