Try netatalk which doess appletalk over tcp/ip. That is the _easiest_ way
to do it. You can then use the built-in appletalk client from the chooser.
SO you only have to worry about the server side of things.

You can get DAVE (it was from Thursby software) which will do SMB. I think
they released a free personal version but it isn't as fast as their
commercial version.
