Initial stages of the installer development were done with virtualization.
 Unfortunately the speed of virtualization is very slow, and the speed of
this install is an issue.  Tests are required on real hardware to ensure
that people can install our Point of Sale software in something less than
2 hours (the current top-end record under Virtual PC).  Ideally we want
installs to run under 15 minutes, but since we have to install SQL Server
2005 Express Edition, we're running at 20 minutes before it even starts
installing our software.  I'd happily replace SQL Server with PostgreSQL,
but I would have to kill at least one person before I could get away with
it.  Currently I'm working on the theory that he's gonna tie his own rope.
