[GLLUG] Recommendation and help needed

I've been struggling with trying to find some application software for a 
nix box.  I'm starting a consignment store and shipping service and 
can't get any of the POS systems I've seen for linux (bananapos, 
MozillaPOS, EasyPOS, and others) to work on either Debian or Suse.  Does 
anyone have a suggestion for a POS (simple cash register for retail) or 
consignment shop software that will run on those flavors?
