If you use this method, or grab the ubuntu-server iso

http://releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/5.10/

you can just "apt-get update && apt-get install xubuntu-desktop" which
will give a XFCE4 desktop.  You'll need to run startx unless you also
grab GDM, XDM, etc...
