In a limited search I've not found a way to use a salvaged laptop processor other than another salvaged laptop that needs one. Is there a kind of hybrid motherboard where I might us an mobile pentium 4 processor in a desktop system? Any one have other ideas?

Background info: I've recently aquired a laptop that function until 3 capacitors were removed from the motherboard in a botched repair attempt. I've salvaged the dvd/cd-rw drive and hard drive to breath life into my older laptop that was until then out of service. Now i've an 2.0ghz pIV processor and a LCD screen with no apparent use. Sad to say the processor is actually .2ghz faster than my current primary system. If I could harness that extra 10% I would be very interested in doing so. Other than that I've only got 128mb mem module that has no purpose, but I can probably find a friend who needs that.

Thanks for any ideas in advance.

Eric
