[GLLUG] Dual Boot Imaging with partimage?

We use partimage for all of our imaging at the Court, and until recently
have had no problems with imaging NTFS. You just need to use qtparted or
fdisk or something to create your partitions on the new box matching (or
exceeding) the size of your image, then restore with partimage.

I say until recently, because our latest batch of HP computers for some
reason cannot be imaged this way. the image is created and restored
without error, but consistently the new box cannot boot and gets IO
errors after the image. We still haven't resolved this.

I have an XP/Linux dual boot system (using grub.)

I want to image the HDD and I'm not sure what the best way to go about
it is. I have heard partimage is 'sort of' ntfs compatible. Then,
thought, you need to backup the partition table as well. I have also
head the Norton Ghost can read ext3 but that costs money.

Any ideas - opinions?
