Classification title:
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL

Job summary:
Serves as developer of complex software and procedures used in support
of Web and other online services; works independently and with others in
a professional manner in a supportive and creative position; will
understand and work with data in the form of manipulation, processing,
conversion, abstraction, and modeling, specifically within relational
database systems; will be responsible for developing creative,
technical, functioning, and aesthetically pleasing solutions, given a
range of requirements; performs other duties as assigned.  

Minimum requirements:
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college,
technical, vocational or business school such as an associate's degree
in computer technology or information systems; one to three years of
related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience
in information technology, including SQL and database design, user
interface design, Web site creation (HTML, XML, CSS), and the tools used
in creating these systems; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.  

Desired qualifications:
Comfortable working in an operating system other than MS Windows, such
as Unix, Linux, or MAC; good communication and multi-tasking skills;
experience with some or all of the following: Coldfusion, Java, JSP,
JAVA Servlets, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, Apache Tomcat;
familiarity with any or all of these platforms: Unix, Linux, and Mac (OS
X) environments; an understanding of or desire to learn about XSL, XLST,
SRW, SRU, Web 2.0, and related items; integration of multiple
disconnected, heterogeneous systems; coordination with diverse team of
designers and system engineers; ability to work directly with customers;
experience with accessible interface design, client/server interaction,
and transaction handling; knowledgeable of data mining and information
retrieval.  

If granted an interview, applicant must be prepared to provide examples
of past work which pass accepted community standards.

Minimum pay: $35,743.00
