You'll need to unzip it, then run the installer.... Change to the directory where it is and type
tar -xzf OOo_2.0.4_Linuxintel_install.tar.gz
Then look at whatever file(s) pop out of it. Probably one is an installer. Say its called setup. You may then need to do
chmod u+x setup
(but maybe not)
Then run the installer...
./setup
This is the standard way things work but your installer might be slightly different. See http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/instructions.html

Subject: [GLLUG] Open office intallation
I thought I'd be able to make it tonight but I can't. I have a question. I have Open Office 2.0.2 and I got an e-mail that 2.0.4 was available. I went to the download URL and downloaded it. I now have
OOo_2.0.4_Linuxintel_install.tar.gz
I found it but I don't know how to install it. What do I use for this?
Thanks,
Fred
