[GLLUG] linux friendly audio player

I listen to a lot of audio books, so I need a Linux mp3 player that
remembers my location in the middle of a track when I turn it off, and
resumes in exactly the same spot when I start up again. And playing
the tracks in the correct order is nice too. :-)

Can RockBox, or any of the other mentioned players do that?

I currently have a first gen ipod nano, using apple firmware and
itunes on my Mac. I'd rather use Linux. Is it possible to switch
back to the apple firmware if I try RockBox and I find it doesn't work
well with audio books?
