I think I misunderstood Caleb. What he meant by the AMD is that his laptop is an AMD 64 with ATI graphics. He had a heck of a time installing linux on it, I think it took him two weeks. So there is nothing wrong with AMD but there are poor linux drivers for ATI. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Julie
