[GLLUG] xemacs and bash

Question:

Every once in a while, I'll be working in bash, and forget that I'm
not in emacs, and I'll try to save (since I save neurotically). I hit
ctrl-x ctrl-s and suddenly my xterm starts hanging. What is it
actually doing, and how do I reverse it? Also, is there a guide on
ctrl-? and bash / xterm? This has happened both when I'm in xterm as
well as a Secure Shell client (the application Secure Shell).
