If you suspect a bad drive, SMART tools can help you get a positive
confirmation that something is wrong. SMART will most likely, but not
always flag a defective disk. So, you can rest assured something is
wrong if SMART finds a problem, but you can NOT do the reverse. Run it
anyhow, but first, backup anything important from that machine.
