[GLLUG] Range Expander doesn't work in Ubuntu??

Okay - So I have a Linksys wireless setup (the DHCP server is actually a firewall.) I have never really had a problem with it before. I can't seem to get the range expander to work though. According to linksys (and this makes sense to me) they NEED to have the same SSID. Maybe this is confusing the nm-applet? Does anyone have experience or advice with this? I am using it NOW in windows (dual-boot) and it is working fine. Windows shows two networks with the same SSID but one is much closer.

Linux seems to see the closer one (with that SSID the signal strength is high enough that I know it's the range expander) but it won't connect.

HELP!?

Thanks,
