Been lurking for a month or so, thought I should say hi.
Employed in Enemy territory (C# and the like), I've been on the side of
Light since helping a senior classman with his Minix serial drivers
project back in the Time Before GUI. The last Linux I personally
installed was Slackware 6.2 or so in '97... eschewing the 'pretty' GUI
crap they had at the time.
I'm still more of a FreeBSD sorta guy, but with my TiVos and with the
plethora of LINUX distros out there these days, drawing in friends who
would never have thought they could build a kernal, I thought I'd start
poking my nose back into things of this ilk. And I tell ya, it's slow
going. All sorts of roadbumps. Be assured I'll poke around for help when
I get that frustrated, though. :)
Found you guys looking for something else, as the web winds around, and
so I subscribed. Already, I thank you all for reminding me of the
existence of Penguicon, which I haven't been to for years, and for your
immense contribution (okay, Eduardo's contribution). I'll probably do
some hours hosting the conSuite or something, so I can get seconds of
Beef! :)
Alrightee, now, off to post on other things.
