[GLLUG] WinTel collusion comes back to bite butts

For over a year I have been saying that it appeared that Microsoft had
"dumbed down" WinVista's Aero interface to work on lower-end Intel
integrated-graphics chipsets -- to the detriment of whatever it was
they were trying to accomplish with Aero.  Now it appears that the
whole story is even WORSE than that; Microsoft LIED with the so-called
"Windows Vista Capable" program to help Intel's bottom line --
allowing them to "certify" the still-in-channel, crappy-but-profitable
915 integrated-graphics chipset:
