[GLLUG] Penguicon Computer Lounge

Nice, very nice indeed!

"- Sofas? Oh, I thought handheld people might like them. :) Crash
space? In OUR Lounge? Why would you think THAT?"

The sofas are a very nice touch. In keeping with historical Penguicon
policy, we should kindly discourage people from sleeping in the
function space, though.

"- Any hardwired connections for the BYOC area (perhaps to facilitate
the package jam) or is it just going to all be wireless connections?"

If we have the kit, there's no particular reason we can't have a
switch or two wired into the same network as the (insecure) wifi.

"- Who's bringing what? Make notes here, leave me a message if you
can't make notes with names and details. Yeah, I'm HORRID with names."

And here's the most challenging part. Ideal Solution has historically
provided the terminal server and is the de facto caretaker of
equipment donated to GLLUG which, if memory serves correct, is
comprised of one thin client plus LCD monitor, a few switches, and a
box of extension cords and power strips. There may be a few other
items that I'm not remembering.

>From my personal stash, I can bring:
- 2 wifi routers (one WRT54G and one Fonera)
- 1 8-port switch
- 3 keyboards
- 2 mice
- 1 monitor
- Volunteer badges and lanyards
- Some other less important stuff, as I think of it.

"- Volunteers? Do we have anything to organize them? No requests have
been made to the con at large yet, as our own house isn't in order"

Chick typically takes care of the volunteer side of things. What we've
done in the past is have people submit their preferred times and
whether they can help with setup, teardown, or both. Then Chick spends
a few days saying some words in an ancient tounge over a boiling
cauldron and a volunteer schedule eventually appears out of thin air.
