In that case, I'd recommend a Sony or Lite-On 16-20X PATA drive (same 
core drive, Sony firmware rumored to have a little better compatibility 
with some media).  I've got two of them (and two earlier CD-RW) and 
they've been among my best burners.  Overall, they have excellent media 
compatibility.

The Sony SATA drives appear to be of a different make, and have only 
recently been available, so I'm not familiar with them.  I've had a SATA 
drive for a few months now with no problems (slower reads though, even 
with a faster rating), but I haven't had it long enough to make much of 
a recommendation.
