If you can manage to get this running in qemu, it should only be a short
step to get kernel acceleration working.  I think you might run into 3D
problems regardless, however (doesn't OS-X talk to the hardware
directly?).  You can get basic hardware OpenGL working between virtual
machines, but I suspect OS-X does more than that.  If you can get things
going without 3D support, I think you will have a LOT smoother transition.
