Broadcast Format, Cable TV? Free To Air TV?

Dear Karl and Vanek-

When I try to scan for channels in SuSE Linux 11.1 with my Kaffeine
TV application. The software package offers me a dozen or so mysterious
formats such as:

us-Cable-Standard-center-frequencies-QAM 256, and:
us-Cable-IRC-center-frequencies-QAM 256, and so on, and so forth.

Can either of you two gentlemen tell us which format Broadcast Cable
uses in Williamston Michigan? Do you know which format I should scan
with for free to air digital television out of Lansing and Detroit?

Thanks / Joel Mayer / joelm_audion at msn.com<mailto:joelm_audion at msn.com>

changing my DNS server to 8.8.4.4 (google) today helped me. Don't know
if it had anything to do with this kerfuffle.

  Neural Networks for the non-technical
  Dr. Stanley C. Mortel

Heard about neural networks? Not sure what they are or how they work?
Or why? This presentation will provide a thoroughly non-technical (no
math) introduction to this fascinating topic. A very basic type of
neural network will be presented and the functional aspects will be
related back to human perception and cognition. Along the way, we look
at visual perception, including some illusions, and the underlying
neural architecture. The goal is to provide a basic, conceptual
understanding of neural networks, then to relate the principles of an
abstract neural network to the human nervous system.
