[GLLUG] question/suggestion for adding a proxy/cache.

I use multiple Squid cache servers currently. I have multiple machines (i.e. wifes computer, my computers, laptop) and my various servers. I have found that downloading patches for my FreeBSD servers is much better going through the cache as the first server downloads the patch and the others pull from the cached version. The problem is a single computer would not see much gain over just straight connection, with one notable exception.... I do use the squid cache to block a significant number of advertising sites and data mining sites, thus not allowing those sites to push advertisement to my network. I hope this helps verse causing more confusion.
